French Bull Dogs
Margaux: What were the catalysts that inspired you and your family to become French Bulldog bree- ders?
Geri Kings:
It all started as a dream shared with my brother, Tom. After successful careers in wrestling, including competing at the Olympics, we wanted to channel our dedication into something meaningful that combined our love for animals. French Bulldogs stole our hearts with their unique personalities and expressive faces, so we decided to dedicate our- selves to raising healthy, happy Frenchies and connecting them with loving families worldwide.
Margaux: Which traits have you developed or combined for a successful profession in the field of dog breeding?
Geri Kings:
Dedication, patience, and a genuine love for French Bulldogs are key, but I’d also add transparency and a commitment to ethical breeding. We’re always open about our breeding practices and put the health, temperament, and well-being of our puppies first. Building and maintaining trust with families is another crucial aspect in the field of dog breeding.
Margaux: What do you believe are the most essential traits for an ethical breeder to possess?
Geri Kings:
An ethical breeder must be genuinely passionate and deeply care for each puppy’s well-being. Compassion, responsi- bility, and dedication should be the driving forces behind breeding, ensuring every Frenchie is raised in a safe, loving environment where they can thrive.
Margaux: What is the most challenging or difficult emotional and professional part of being a dog breeder?
Geri Kings:
The hardest part is coping with the inevitable setbacks—sometimes, despite all our efforts, a puppy may face health challenges. It’s emotionally tough because each Frenchie is like family to us. Professionally, our biggest challenge is to breed and raise the healthiest Frenchie puppies who are free from genetic and other health issues. At the same time, this also gives us the opportunity to reshape perceptions around ethical breeding and show that it’s possible to raise healthy, happy French Bulldogs by maintaining the highest standards in breeding.
Margaux: Could you explain your professional roles as a dog breeder?
Geri Kings:
We raise each Frenchie with love, care and a strong focus on health, and ensure they find a loving home. Our ultimate goal is to improve the health and reputation of French Bulldogs and tackle the challenges posed by unethical breeders who harm our cherished breed.
Margaux: Which methods do you employ to monitor the health of the puppies?
Geri Kings:
Our puppies’ health is our top priority, so we implement rigorous health protocols. This includes regular veterinary check-ups, genetic and health screenings to prevent any hereditary or preventable health issues. From birth, each puppy is closely monitored for growth, temperament, and overall well-being to ensure they thrive and are ready to join their forever families.
Margaux: As an avid author and prolific writer, tell our readers about your exemplary eBooks.
Geri Kings:
Our eBooks are a collection of knowledge we’ve gathered over more than 15 years of experience with French Bull- dogs. Each eBook covers an essential area to help ensure that both new and future owners feel fully prepared. The Ul- timate Frenchie Adoption Guide for Future Pawrents is ideal for anyone considering a Frenchie, providing everything they need to know before adoption. For Frenchie parents, Raise a Happy and Healthy Frenchie — The Ultimate Guide for Pawrents offers detailed guidance on raising a well-adjusted pup. We also have Fluffy Frenchie 101, which covers the unique needs of Fluffy Frenchies, and the Cookbook for Frenchies by TomKings Family, a compilation of healthy, Frenchie-approved recipes shared by our community. Through these resources, we aim to help every Frenchie thrive as a beloved family member.
Margaux: Let’s talk about the dietary needs of French Bulldogs. How should a future pet parent feed their Frenchie?
Geri Kings:
French Bulldogs can be prone to sensitive stomachs, so a quality diet is absolutely essential.
We always recommend feeding them a super-premium dog food with a high protein content from quality meat sour- ces, without fillers and chemical additives. If you’re cooking for them at home, pay close attention to what goes into their bowl—certain foods can upset their digestion.
Margaux: Could you tell our audience where your kennels are? And do you have a kennel in the Euro- pean Union?
Geri Kings:
Our main kennel is in Hungary, within the European Union, where we raise our puppies with the utmost care. Recent- ly, due to high demand and to make adoption easier for families in the U.S., we’ve also partnered with ethical breeders in the United States who share our values and high standards, and have access to our excellent European bloodlines. This way, we can provide healthy, happy Frenchies to even more loving homes worldwide.
Margaux: Tell us about the variety and color range of your Frenchies.
Geri Kings:
French Bulldogs are unique in that they come in about 30 different color variations—a remarkably wide range in the canine world. At TomKings, we offer everything from classic colors like fawn, cream, and brindle to rarer shades like blue, lilac, and even fluffy and big rope Frenchies. With such variety, every Frenchie lover can find their ideal match, whether they’re drawn to a traditional look or a more exotic color.
Margaux: Last but not least, how does one re-home a Frenchie from your kennels?
Geri Kings:
Re-homing a Frenchie with us is a careful and supportive process. We start by getting to know potential adopters to ensure each puppy is matched with the right family. Once a family is ready, we guide them through the adoption steps, from choosing their puppy to preparing for their new arrival. Our support doesn’t end there—we stay connected with our Frenchie parents, offering guidance, resources, and a lifelong connection through the TomKings Frenchie Family community.
